Ella Summers presents Books 1-4 in the Legions of Angels series: Vampire's Kiss, Witch's Cauldron, Siren's Song, and Dragon's Storm.

#1. Vampire's Kiss
Once you sip the Nectar of the gods, there’s no going back.
Leda Pierce is working as a paranormal bounty hunter on the Frontier, the dividing line between human civilization and the plains of monsters. Life is simple and the pay modest, but at least she has her family. That is, until a vampire hunt goes wrong and her brother goes missing, captured by the dark angels of hell.
With no magical powers of her own and no way to find him, Leda’s only option is to go to New York and join the Legion of Angels, an elite unit of supernatural soldiers with powers gifted to them by the gods themselves. If she can survive long enough to make it up the ranks, she will gain the magic she needs to find her brother.
But Leda soon finds herself on the wrong side of a conspiracy that will shake up the supernatural world—and at the mercy of a fiercely powerful and tempting angel.

#2. Witch's Cauldron
Something wicked is brewing in New York.
“A month ago, I watched in horror as six of my fellow initiates died after sipping the Nectar of the gods, a heavenly drink that either grants you magical powers or kills you. I can’t believe I’m coming back for seconds.”
Leda Pierce has survived the gods’ first test and gained entry into the Legion of Angels, but the fight is far from over. Someone is poisoning the supernaturals of New York. Suspecting witches, the Legion sends in Leda to investigate. To save the city, she will need magic she doesn’t have—and gaining that magic might just kill her. Now her survival depends on accepting help from the darkly seductive angel Nero, but that help comes with a price she cannot afford to pay.

#3. Siren's Song
Leda Pierce’s latest mission brings her back to her hometown at the edge of the Frontier. But things have taken a turn for the worse in the six months since she left home to join the Legion of Angels in New York City. Crime lords now rule over the town, and the beasts’ numbers are exploding just beyond the great magic wall that separates humanity from the plains of monsters.
Together with the fiercely seductive angel Nero, Leda guides a group of pilgrims across the monster-infested expanse to the ruins of the final battle between gods and demons. What begins as a pilgrimage, however, soon turns into a treasure hunt for an ancient weapon that could tip the balance of power between heaven and hell—and spirals into an intrigue that pits Leda and Nero against a rogue member of the Legion, a legendary angel as powerful as he is black-hearted.

#4. Dragon's Storm
Leda’s quest to gain the magic she needs to save her brother leads her to the castle of the Dragons, home of four soldiers in the Legion of Angels with extraordinary powers over the elements. If she makes it through their training, she might just survive her next sip of the gods’ Nectar and level up her magic.
But the gods’ gifts of magic come at a price. Leda can already feel the Nectar changing her, making her less human—and so is her budding romance with the angel Nero. Sip by sip, kiss by kiss, the change is taking hold of her.
As if that’s not enough, Leda finds herself once again caught between the armies of heaven and hell—and tempted by a darkness that threatens to consume the Earth.

Ella Summers has been writing stories for as long as she could read; she's been coming up with tall tales even longer than that. One of her early year masterpieces was a story about a pigtailed princess and her dragon sidekick. Nowadays, she still writes fantasy. She likes books with layered plots, lots of action and adventure, and a touch of romance. When she is not busy writing or spending time with her two young children, she makes the world safe by fighting robots.

This was a quick audio book of the 1st four books (Legion of Angels) I have previously read. I can honestly say that I enjoyed reading each myself vs. the fast paced listen while working method.
Science fiction- romance, with a strong-willed heroine who is a lot of action and snark....so you could say that I like it a lot!
In closing (in this very short review), good reading friends ♡

Legion of Angels #1-4
Vampire's Kiss (Book 1) is the only one of four that I read. It was okay. There is a post-apocalyptic vibe to it. Apparently approximately 200 years ago vampires were unleashed on humanity and the rest of monsters happened in reaction to that. Eventually, the gods pushed the monsters back and built a wall to keep them out, while simultaneously keeping what was left of humanity in.

Fast forward to now. The wall still exists, but the closer you live to it the more dangerous your life is. Humanity has been given supernatural abilities and if they join the "Legion of Angels" they can even work their way up the ranks and to become an angel.

I listened to the entire first book and I was never truly able to buy into the world that the author created. I'm not sure why. There isn't just one thing I can point to, but I have no desire to listen to the next book. None. I don't really want to know what happens. It was just too far-fetched for me and I'm sure the narrator didn't help either. She was not that great to listen to, but between her lackluster narration and the lack of good world/character building in this book, I'm not even sure if it would've been better had I write it for myself the old-fashioned way. This book was simply okay…

This edition includes the first 4 books in this series, with a total of 9 books thus far. I'm sorry to say that I only made it through the first book before deciding that with 21 hours left for the next 3 books, I had no desire to go any further. If I happen to change my mind, I will post it here.

Just what I needed. After the Fourth Wing, I needed to reread a great book series, and it worked. Love Leda, she and Violence are similar in their sassy way.
Action, spicy steamy, and funny
Rereading books 5 to 9 too. I'm just not logging it again.

I actually love these books and can’t wait for the next one. Ilona Andrews & Chloe Neill fans will not be disappointed...seriously just start this series and be prepared to lose yourself reading about Leda’s quest to save her brother.
